Through the Parish Twinning Program, Friends of Haiti, Inc. has joined efforts with Assumption Parish of Broadview Heights, Ohio.  As a result of Assumption’s ongoing financial and organizational support, Mary Zenczak, Assumption Haiti Outreach Chairperson, has been appointed to the Friends of Haiti, Inc.  Board of Directors.

Recently, one hundred twenty three boxes of supplies were shipped to Haiti by Assumption Parish including:

• Midwife kits containing sterile and non sterile items for safe deliveries
• Layette packets for newborns
• Five treadle sewing machines and cabinets
• Clinic supplies (vitamins, Tylenol, bandages, powdered formula and infant cereal)
• School supplies and clothing.

Assumption Parish also supports the Friends of Haiti  mission by contributing to the parish nurse/public health nurse project in addition to the lunch program at St. Therese School in Thomazeau.
