Denigon Dental Team

 Our Friends of Haiti dental team has been providing services to a few of the more remote areas served by the medical teams since 2008.   During the fall 2011 mission our dental team utilized the Denigon site for the first time and found the site to be very well suited to providing dental care.

Our team arrived to Denigon late in the morning on the 16^th and immediately began the process of assembling our portable dental clinic.  Within a few hours  the multi-doctor group practice of Drs.  Joseph, Edouard and Thompson was operational and we seated our first patient.  At the conclusion of our first day we had treated 25 patients, primarily for the removal of abscessed teeth.  During the course of 3 ½ days we provided dental care to approximately 300 patients, both children and adults.  Services provided included a few dental cleanings, preventive fluoride varnish applications for many children, and extractions for approximately 200 very grateful patients.

Collaboration with our Hatian friends, Drs. Elie Joseph and Dr Lucson Edouard created a very effective team, one we hope to continue to develop with future missions.
